The Heart
Summertime is almost over - for some. In some places,
schools are back in session and the classrooms are heating up
once again. The heat index outside is still
reaching 100 degrees or higher too.
In the present ever changing world of finance, lending and real
estate, a veteran like myself has to continue being schooled or go
back to "school" to learn the new rules and laws that play a big
part of what we do. As we approach the last
four months of 2009, we expect there will continue to be many
changes that could effect our lives. We have much to learn
and share with you as the news comes in. So stay
tuned to all our future newsletters, share them with
friends, family and others you know.
Our mission continues to be one that helps people meet the
challenges of today and to protect and help them
work thru this tumultuous times we are in. We are helping people achieve their
dreams. Helping people save money and helping people avoid costly
mistakes.
Over the past 30 years, I have
consulted with thousands of people who put their trust in the
information we provide and
the companies we represent. It is an awesome responsibility
that is not taken lightly.
I realize that the destiny of those we serve are in our hands, and
that my friend is a sobering though. Each time I or one of
our colleagues meet with
people we treat our clients financial matters as if they were our
own. It's personal. It's Professional.
We want to thank you for your loyal support all of these years!
And for those that have not had an experience working with us and our
fine services, we invite you to give us a call and see for yourself.
It will be refreshing and rewarding to see that People Really Do Come
First!

- First Time Buyers, Time is Running Out for the $8,000 Tax Credit -
Tax Credit Ends 11/30/2009
"The
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 offers homebuyers a
tax credit of up to $8,000 for purchasing their first home. Families
can only access this credit after filing their tax returns with the
IRS."

Sign of Change: "Existing Home Sales Jump to Two-Year
High"
"Aug. 21 (Bloomberg)
-- Sales of existing U.S. homes jumped more than forecast in July to
the highest level in almost two years, signaling the housing crisis
that crippled the world’s largest economy is easing."

- "How To Qualify For a Short
Sale"
"Short sales is a hot buzz phrase. Some sellers who decide that
their
home won't sell at the price they had imagined often start to
wonder if they should
do a short sale. A short sale doesn't always solve problems, but
it most assuredly can create problems. Short sales are not the
"saving grace" some home sellers would like to believe."

- "Helping Preserve Your Retirement
Assets by Taking Smaller Distributions"
"You own two pots of money: The
money that has already been taxed (lets call it
“regular money”) and the
money that has not been taxed (let’s call this “retirement money”
such as IRA, 401(k). 403(b). etc.). When you spend a dollar of
regular money, the cost to you is exactly $1. When you spend $1 of
retirement money, cost to you could be as much as $1.541(1/.65)
because you may have to pay off federal income tax on the amount you
withdraw. Therefore, if you want to reduce your taxes, consider not
taking more than the required distribution from your retirement
money."

“You too can wring much more out of every gallon of gas, even if you
don't go to the crazy lengths of so-called hypermilers. Here are
basic steps anyone can take to get real savings.”
By
Philipp Harper
“Wayne
Gerdes is the Lance Armstrong of gas mileage.
In 2006,
at the Honda Insight Marathon in Tonkawa, Okla., using driving
tactics both mundane and exotic, Gerdes and his teammates went 2,254
miles on a single 13.7-gallon tank of gas. That's an average of 165
miles per gallon for a vehicle with an EPA rating of 60 city/66
highway. During one of Gerdes' runs on the 40-mile course, mpg
peaked at 200.”

Close With This Thought from One of Our Readers:
If there are 24 hours in a day, and a lifetime is decades long, how can
you have a long day, and a short memory? These are the thoughts that
keep me up at night.
